This past week Virtual Logistics attended IRCE- Internet Retailer Conference and Exhibition, the world’s largest e-commerce event in the world at McCormick place in Chicago. From June 4-7 Internet Retailer organized an exhibit hall with over 600 exhibitors including Virtual Logistics Inc. and an impressive list of speakers including:
- Al Gore- Director, Apple Inc. & Senior Adviser, Google
- Hiroshi Mikitani- Chairman & CEO, Rakuten
- Mindy Grossman- CEO, HSN Inc.
- Gian Fulgoni- Chairman, comScore Inc.
- Alex Zhardanovsky- Co-Founder, PetFlow.com
- Craig Oldham- VP Digital Engagement, The American Red Cross
This was the second year in a row that the team from VL attended IRCE and this year was even bigger than last year with over 9,500 people expected to make their way through the 250,000 sq. foot exhibit hall over the three days. Luckily we brought some back up in the form of our valuable partners from SmartOSC, Thai Son and Nga Tran Thu as well as Nathan Camp from Liaison Technologies.
Having partners from both SmartOSC and Liaison Technologies at the booth allowed VL and the rest of the team to focus on the benefits of a complete solution from front end design to back end integration using Liaison ECS and Delta software. Over the three days we spoke to A LOT of people about e-commerce integration to all of the major shopping cart platforms (many of whom were also exhibiting) including Magento, Volusion, PrestaShop, Shopify, Shopatron, XCart, 3dcart and Ecwid.
Highlighting such a complete solution also allowed us to promote and talk to members of the e-commerce industry about our brand new Cloud Marketing Automation Service, which we launched just before IRCE. Marketing Automation Integration adds an extra avenue to our already robust and scalable solution by allowing web store owners to target their customers from the moment that they make a purchase in the web store.
Not only a great platform for promoting new services and products, IRCE allowed the VL team to participate in valuable networking opportunities by setting up meetings and talking to exhibitors in every aspect of e-commerce from packaging and shipping with Canada Post to logistics with Maple Logistics. Overall, IRCE was a successful networking, learning and promotional experience for the VL team resulting in potential partnerships, and a lot of education about the upcoming and outgoing trends in the ever changing e-commerce space.
